What is an LED light therapy facial?
An LED facial uses panels of light-emitting diodes at specific colours, placed close to the skin while you lie back and relax. It is non-invasive, involves no heat on the skin and there is usually no downtime. At our salon your therapist selects the light to suit your skin on the day. Blue light is used for breakouts and acne-prone skin, red light for signs of ageing and fine lines, and yellow light for calming redness and sensitivity. Before the light session, your skin is cleansed and prepared so it is ready to benefit, and afterwards it is finished with moisturiser and SPF. Many clients find the warm glow and quiet time very restful.
Basic or Deluxe LED facial: what is the difference in price?
The Basic LED Facial is £32. It is a 30 minute treatment within a 40 minute booking and includes a gentle cleanse and skin prep, customised LED light therapy, then a hydrating moisturiser and SPF. It works well as a quick boost or as a maintenance session between more advanced facials. The Deluxe LED Facial is £42, a 45 minute treatment within a 55 minute booking. It adds a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation before the light therapy, and a hydrating mask before moisturiser and SPF, for a more complete, spa-like experience. Both are designed for all skin types and can be booked on Fresha at our Fore Street salon.
How many LED sessions do I need and who should avoid it?
Skin often looks calmer and brighter after a single session, but LED is generally used as a course, as changes to breakouts or firmness tend to build gradually with regular treatments. Your therapist will recommend a frequency that fits your concern and budget. LED is gentle, but it is not suitable for everyone. Please tell us if you are pregnant, have epilepsy or light sensitivity, take medication that increases photosensitivity, or have a medical condition affecting your skin, as we may need to adapt or avoid treatment. Protective eyewear is used during the session. Afterwards you can carry on as normal, and daily SPF will help protect your results.
